We use school feedback, recent assessments and selected tasks to identify skills and errors most affecting marks. We then practise to reduce recurring errors.
Each component is taught as both a language skill and an examination task.

Develop strategies for understanding spoken Italian.
We begin by looking at the exam specification, your child’s current level and any feedback they have already received. From there, we identify clear priorities.
As confidence grows, tasks become more independent and more closely timed. Detailed feedback helps your child understand recurring mistakes, strengthen weaker areas and improve the quality of each response.
Yes. I can arrange a free video chat with parents and pupils so we can discuss your goals and availability, talk through how the lessons could work, and get to know each other before you decide whether to book.
I support AQA and Pearson Edexcel GCSE Italian, Pearson Edexcel A-Level Italian, National 5 and Higher through Qualifications Scotland (formerly SQA), and IB Italian. We confirm the current specification and assessment format before planning lessons.
Yes. A programme can prioritise speaking, writing, reading or listening while still addressing the grammar and vocabulary that affect that component.
Yes. Regular guided practice makes the format more familiar and develops strategies for extending answers and handling follow-up questions.
Past-paper and exam-style material can be used where appropriate and permitted. It is combined with personalised teaching that strengthens the underlying Italian rather than simply repeating papers.
This depends on the timetable and the learner’s other commitments. Short, focused tasks completed consistently are often more useful than a large quantity of exercises done once a week.
Lessons start at £45 for a 60-minute session. Each session is planned around your child’s exam board, current level and priorities, with carefully chosen materials, targeted practice and clear feedback.
If you need to cancel or reschedule a lesson, please give at least 24 hours’ notice whenever possible. This helps me manage the timetable fairly and offer the slot to another learner.
Payment is preferably made once a month, in advance, for the lessons scheduled during the following month. Payment is by bank transfer, and I will confirm the amount and payment details in advance. For greater scheduling flexibility, you can also book a block of 5 or 10 lessons to use over an agreed period.
Please send the qualification, exam board, current working level and any areas of concern. I’ll then suggest how tuition could be structured around your child’s needs.
